FAQ
How do I enrol?
You should decide first whether you want to join a group class - you will be among like-minded people at the same stage of learning - or whether you want one to one tuition. Personal tuition is more expensive, of course, as you are not sharing the cost with others, but progress can be faster as the tutor concentrates just on you. Once you know what you want come along and visit us at Avda. Pablo Iglesias, 84,take your level test and we can then discuss all the options available to you.
How do you decide my level?
Here at `The Chelsea English Centre´ we take the time to assess each individual student personally before they enrol with us. This ensures we place them in the correct group for their ability and in the long run, will make sure they see consistent improvements in their ability to communicate successfully in English.
What if the class is too hard/easy for me?
We try very hard to form groups of people of the same level, and spend a lot of time and effort in placing our students in the correct groups. However, on rare occasions, a student may find that they need to move up or down a level. Anyone finding a class too hard or too easy should talk to a member of the management team about a move to a different level. It is quite normal, though, to feel lost at times when learning a new language and you should not let this get the better of you. Teaching technique has improved immensely over the years but the requirements of a student are much the same - perseverance, patience and practice. Your teacher will do everything he or she can to help you and the only real question is how much you will do to help yourself.
What size are the groups?
None of our Groups will ever have any more than 10 pupils in them. We strongly believe that if the groups are any larger, the level of service we can provide will not be consistent with the high standards we impose on ourselves and defeats our primary objective of successfully teaching English to our students in a friendly and stimulating environment.
Can I change date and time of my classes once the course has started?
Yes, changes are permitted as long as there is a space in the group you wish to change to. Please discuss any and all options available to you with the management team.
Do you issue certificates?
As the only authorised Cambridge examination centre in Rivas, all of the students who sit their exams in our facilities will be given their official Cambridge certificate by us at `The Chelsea English Centre´.
What Prices do you charge?
Prices are all dependant on your level. Please come in and see us to ascertain your level and discuss all of the options available to you and the relevant prices.
Do you close during the year?
Here at `The Chelsea English Centre´ we follow the academic school calendar for Madrid and as such we are closed for the school holiday periods at Christmas and Easter. The Centre is also closed in the month of August, but remains open in June and July for our intensive courses and summer camp. We observe all the national bank holidays and those which are celebrated in Madrid and Rivas. With regards to Bank holidays/festivos we will, where possible, endeavour to offer alternative classes to our affected pupils.
